On PMU Data Integrity Under GPS Spoofing Attacks: A Sparse Error Correction Framework

Consider the problem of mitigating impact on data integrity phasor measurement units (PMUs) given a GPS spoofing attack. We present sparse error correction framework to treat PMU measurements that are potentially corrupted due exploit nature attack, which is only small fraction PMUs affected by first attack identifiability conditions (in terms network topology, locations, and number spoofed PMUs) under manipulation identifiable. The have important implications how locations affect their resilience attacks. To effectively correct data, we approach wherein computation tasks decomposed into smaller zones ensure scalability. experimental results obtained from numerical simulations with IEEE RTS-96 300 test networks demonstrate effectiveness proposed approach.
